So I'm just doing a build for my boys xmas present I have all my fans in a phanteks hub but the 2 80mm ones won't work unless I plug them in with the molex conectors but then they run at full speed
anyone have any suggestions
Cheers Nathan

Which fans do you have? You should be able to connect them to the fan hub, which then gets plugged into the motherboard, allowing you to control them via PWM.

they are just cheap 80mm AKASA AK-170CB-4BLS Clear Crystal Blue LED Case Fan there for the rear of a corsair air240 when i have them in the fan controller all the others work apart from them

so you are unable to plug in the akasa fans to the hub? They are plugged directly into the PSU? Do you have any spare slots on the motherboard you could plug them in?

All 3-pin fans on Phanteks PWM controlled hub are changing speed dependent on heat except the 2x 80mm ones?
What is the case and fan combination?
Maybe you don't need hte 2x 80mm fans at all. ;)

No its a micro atx so only has 2 fan conectors I just think it's strange that they don't work in the fan hub but the other fans with 3 pin do

To be honest the only reason I have them is for the led
The case is a corsair air 240 i have 2 120 in the front a antec aio in the top with another 120 on that and a 120 next to it then the 2 80s at the back for exhaust

Maybe get a couple of 12v leds or a short 12v led strip to use for lights?
Something like 12" 5050 LED Strip Light 12v strip for a quid and put some old HDD molex connectors on them?

i have got one strip all ready ill see if i can sort the fans out maybe a inline speed controller or something just to turn the rpm down

just had another look now the boy is in bed i had used what i thought was extension cables but they were 3 pin one end then the live had been taken out and put in the molex at the other end leaving just 2 pins in the 3pin plug
im picking up some 3pin extensions tomorrow so hopefully all the fans will work in the hub

I lost sleep last night trying to figure out how a 12v fan did not lower it's speed when the voltage was lowered .. which is what the Phanteks PWM controlled fan hub does. It uses the PWM signal to regulate the voltage to it's fan headers. Tealc just tested one to see how it worked. He told me the hub worked very well wiht 3-9-ish fans. Less fans and lower PWM did not lower fan speed / voltage much.
