SLR or compact??

I've got a 30D and a canon G12 at the moment and I'm off to China for 3 weeks and one or the other is coming with me....

I've always taken the SLR but hate the bulk and the weight. To be honest i'm going off the whole SLR lark..

Will i kick myself if i just take the compact? It's a great camera and has been my underwater camera for 2 years with great results. It also fits in a pocket

Should also mention i don't want a bag full of lenses.

At the moment i have:-

canon 50mm 1.8
Tamron 18-270IS (the back packing lens but i'm not a fan)
the stock 18-55
sigma 105mm
sigma 17-70 (the one i'd take, i think)

Thanks guys. I do like the SLR concept, on other holidays I've been glad of a good zoom and/or macro.

Wonder if selling the body, the 50 and the 17-270 would fund a lighter smaller body??
