snails need sources of calcium to survive and maintain their shells, making them unable to travel to the same extent as slugs, this is why slugs are more common. the armour would have been a good idea except most things that would kill a snail are prefectly capable of smashing the snails.
however, in terms of the nature of which species is superior, i would argue that the snails evolved to live near volcanic vents on the ocean floor and accumulate metal plating on their shells as the mineral rich water crystalises on them. their superior heat tolerance makes them invunerable to predators. it is with this in mind that i argue that snail is faget.
however, after writing this i feel i have somehow missed the point of this debate somewhat.
