Hi i am getting sluggish performance on this game no matter what settings i select,

i am using a 780 superclocked EVGA card along with a i7 920 clocked at 3.8ghz with 12gb of DDR3 RAM.

I tried updating the nvidia drivers, turning AF/AA and teselation off and even settying the quality to medium and the FPS ohovers around 10-20fps.

this is on 2560x1200 resolution.

Acording to various reviews of my card, it should easily play this game at very high settings with AF/AA on full on a steady 40-50fps??

Mine is way off that!

Got any recording software running in the background like Fraps?

Is your GPU firmware/bios up to date?

Have you got any Logitech software running in the background, apparently that can affect performace but this may have been rectified by now, in task manager, under processes, look for Lcore.exe, if it is listed, disable it and/or uninstall the Logitech software.

Any anti-virus real time protection running that could be bottlenecking it?

What does normal Metro run like? Im sure normal Metro ran ok on 2560 x 1440 in high settings with dof off on my i5, 8gb, gtx670

Just played the game myself and PhysX events are causing my GPU's to slow down. Seems it's borked. Try playing without it or installing a previous PhysX component.

Metro 2033 working fine for me. Is it just last light that has the issue?

Metro LL has been notorious for having issues with PhysX on single and multi card setups. The last known one which was patched for Metro LL was 9.13.0725, so I'm going to install these. I recommend the OP tries that out too.

I'd definitely blame physx.

I played the game fine up until a level where you had to crawl through some duct and talk to a fella in a prison cell. That whole level stuttered and was unplayable. Then I turned off physx and it was perfect.

same here.

it was PhysX. used to play fine at around 70fps and then suddenly at certain scene (when Artyom comes to the courtyard and confronts Pavel and subsequent shootout) it dropped to 4-5fps. it felt like playing on Intel iGPU.

played around with settings and drivers and after disabling PhysX it went through just fine on around 50fps lowest.

Been playing last light and it has ran perfect so far. Great looking game

^ Nice pics Guest2.

There is a 'trainer' that has a Slow Motion feature which is pretty awesome for getting those artsy shots at the right moment. Its made by MrAntiFun.

Ive been using it and it works with the latest version of MLL on Steam.

EDIT: The trainer makes a 'noise/sound' when enabling and disabling the 'cheat', this can be disabled as its a bit annoying by muting Windows Sounds in Windows. Also, the trainer cannot be 'mapped' to keys of your choise, I use KeyMapper to swap the Num pad keys to another key near WASD for easy toggling.
