Hi guys, recently my optical drive has recently stopped working, it still has power and connects to my PC, but it will not be detected. I have looked at my hardware and it seems to be a problem with the drivers, but when I looked at them there doesn't seem to be a problem.
Could it be linked to my SM Bus Controller suddenly not working either? Again that seems to be down to the drivers, but I can't find any free downloads of the correct drivers for it. Any idea's guys? Repairing or troubleshooting the problem doesn't seem to do anything.
I have already tried a system restore but I can't go back far enough.
If it helps I am using an Acer x1700 MCP73T motherboard with Vista 64bit (yes I know how outdated that is
