Smackdown vs Raw 2009

Anyone going to pick this up?

I stoped playing after Here Comes The Pain when the following games started to become simply updates. This year seems a bit different though! I played the demo last night was very impressed with how the fight progressed much like it does on TV. I was surprised to find that Triple H only has stats of "91" wheres Shaun Michaels has "93" though, but I haven't watched the TV program for years either so I don't know how much has changed!

It's a shame there arn't any legends this year and it looks like we'll never have as good a roster again as in previous years (no Hogan, Steiner, Kurt, Brock, Rock, Austin etc).

For once I'm looking forward to a Smackdown game again though thats the most important thing :D
 
Not looked into SvR 2009 since imo 2008 was pap. 2007 still remains one of my heaviest played 360 games though.

I recall that there was a Wrestlemania version of the SvR series coming out though? This was a while back though. It was meant to be released alongside SvR2009 and feature all the old wrestlemania's and chraracters... Nokkon, where are ya!?

Its coming but I think its around March next year. Not much is known other than managers will play a greater role and characters are "how we actually remember them" rather than necessarily how they actually were. I'm looking forward to that game more but theres still to many unknowns about it to make it the only wrestling purchase (match types etc).
 
I'll be getting it, as per every year! :)

Legends of Wrestlemania, hmm, "how we actually remember them" could be a curse! But will wait and see, I just want firepro for 360!!! :D
 
I picked up SvR2008 cheap a few weeks back but it was a bit "meh".

I found it far too easy for one - just beat your opponent up a bit, hit the finisher, and walk out the ring.

Will have to give the demo a look before I decide on 2009 fully.
 
Found the trailer for WWE Legends of Wrestlemainia... Hope its got some of the all time classics in there... Bret Hart, Randy Savage, Rick Rude, Ultimate warrior, Earthquake, Jake the Snake, Honky Tonk Man, Million Dollar Man.. Etc...
 
Randy Savage definitely won't be in there and I highly doubt the Warrior will either as they are both have issues with Vince McMahon.

When is the demo out for SvR 09?
 
I think from what i have played so far on the 2009 demo that it is a slight improvement in the right direction. I like the new views when you stop outside the ring even if they do take some getting used too. Also the transition from a downed opponent to the knees to their feet looks much much better and plays better than it did before. Models used to just fall to the floor as they were getting up if you used a move on them but now they are in the kneeling position and it flows slightly better imo. I think i'll be picking it up but not 100% sure as there as lots of great games coming out soon that i will also be looking into :D

Edit: Yea i also was shocked when i saw shawn having higher stats than trips.

Its out on ps3 at the minute not on live yet for some reason.

If it's anything like last years version you do get a limited amount of legends to play with, but they have to be purchased/unlocked.

In last years version you had the likes of Bret Hart, Roddy Pipper, Rick Rude as well as the likes of The Rock & Austin.

I would still rather have a complete roster of the old greats rather than the limited number in SvR.

Demo seemed OK but to similar to 08 to consider shelling out £40 when I picked up 08 a couple of weeks for a tenner.
 
I think this year the have focused on the current roster (55 at last count I beleive). All the legends will no doubt go on the Legends of Wrestlemania game. :)
 
It's out on Friday! The game got a 9/10 on Games Radar :)

Has anyone played the demo on both 360 and PS3? Just trying to work out which one is the best graphics / load time wise?
