I'm planning to build a new machine that can run Dialbo 3, hopefully with high quality settings. I'm not sure which graphics card(s) I would need and what power supply I would need.
I want to get the same case and PSU that I have at the moment, which is an Antec mATX case with an Antec Earthwatts 380W PSU. I would have been happier with the 430W version, but I don't have a choice what it comes with. I also want the system to be quiet, so low power is good.
I'm planning to get a 3.4GHz Intel processor. These are 77W, but does the power usage exceed this in turbo mode? I'm still not sure whether to go for i5 or i7, there's not a lot in it.
The graphics processor in these is supported by Diablo 3, so even without a dedicated graphics card it should work, but only on low settings. I'm planning to get an Asus Maximus V Gene m/b, which should let me use both the Intel graphics and also a dedicated graphics card to boost performance. Bearing this in mind, I'm guessing that it shouldn't take much to get up to the settings that I want? I want something passive, so I was thinking about the "Sapphire HD 6570 Ultimate Edition 1024MB GDDR3 PCI-Express SILENT Graphics Card" (or something similar). Any ideas how this should perform?
Also, is the PSU (Antec 380W Earthwatts) likely to cope with this setup? I don't think a passively cooled GPU could use too much power, and everything else is fairly standard. Most graphics cards recommend a minimum of 400W, but it rarely makes sense with a good quality PSU. I suspect 380W would be more than enough.
