I'm going to be selling my mach2, just a bit too noisy and expensive for my liking.

However I have got a bit of a taste for slightly more extreme overclocking so I fancy sticking a TEC on my cpu. Couple of questions...

1, can I run one off my normal psu?
2, do I need to use dielectric grease in my cpu socket/neoprenes etc?
3, what sort of temps should I expect on a 3800 X2 with 1.65v in it?

It'll be in a loop on its own so as long as it doesn't boil I don't really care what temp the water gets to.

The temperatures that you'll be getting will be linked to the strength of the TEC that you choose to have. If you do choose to run one off of your normal PSU, you can only really use a weak one. If you want a more powerfull one, 120W+ you're going to have to get yourself a special PSU.

Yep, to cool an X2 you'll be wanting a 220w+ TEC which will mean you'll need a Meanwell to power it. With a 226W TEC I would expect temps of somewhere in the region of 0-10c but it really depends what else is in the loop. Also overclocking and upping the voltage will add a load more heat so could up to 5-15c at a guess. I'd deff. neoprene/grease it up.
