i have never built a computer using a small case before so i would like someone to just give this build a check through, and explain any common problems with building a system like this, and also any price cutting improvements would be great

Some issues there.

I don't think that board takes Core 2 processors, just the old Pentium LGA775 processors. If you want Core 2 support then there's either the F-I90HD from OcUK or one of the G33M boards (Asus P5K-VM, Gigabyte G33M-DS2R) but you'd need to get those from elsewhere.

Also, I have a friend with that case, and he runs an Athlon 3200+ Barton processor (old Socket A) with a 9800 Pro and he gets massive heat issues - 40C idle, but it can get into the 80-90C region when under load.

I'd recommend splashing out the extra for something like a Lian-Li V300 or a Sugo SG01/SG03 and then picking up a good ATX PSU for it. You'll save yourself a LOT of headaches in the long run.
