I deliberated over whether to post this. On one hand, I want to show of my* new car but, on the other, I risk the wrath of Fox. Cunning as he is, he's soon going to point out 2 things that I've intentionally neglected to mention.

Here goes anyway...

Audi A6
S-line
Daytona Grey (Pearlescent)
19" Wheels
MMI / DVD Nav
Parking sensors
Xenons + running lights
Heated leather seats with s-line embossed
Lovely sports wheel
Bluetooth
Likely a few toys I've not discovered yet

It's not exactly my dream car but it looks fantastic, I definitely chose the best colour, dealer service (Brighton Audi) has been excellent, the ride isn't anywhere near as harsh as I expected and it's plenty powerful enough.

Be as cruel as you like, I have broad shoulders :).

* 2 year lease. The reasons are my own.

It's like a challenge. Are the two things I am meant to point out:

a) It is a 2 litre diesel
b) It was introduced 7 years ago and ordered at the same time as a completely new model is launched?

:p

Damn, that was faster than I expected.

Edit: Defensiveness was in good humour.

It's a 2.0 TDI (170) but, being all aluminium, it doesn't weigh much more than a Golf. I've driven and owned 'fast' cars and this is plenty quick enough.

Interior is black/charcoal. It's just the lighting and cheap camera making it look grey.

Handbrake is electronic, to the right of the gearstick.

Edit: That 0-60 is for the 140 PS model AFAIK.

i like that :) even has a proper gear box

I'm perhaps the only person in the world who is totally indifferent when it comes to auto vs. manual. I enjoy driving both.

With the (ahem) 2.0 TDI, it made more sense to have the manual than the automatic CVT abhorrence.

I'm really enjoying the drive so far. There is some tramlining with the 19s which takes some getting used to with the ridiculously overassisted steering but aside from that... bliss.

Let me tell you a story...

Back in 2007, I took an A6 very much like this one (but lower spec) on a 2 year lease. At the end of that lease, they offered me the car for £13k (20k miles, as new condition with only me having ever driven it). I stupidly turned it down, thinking I'd want to be in something more exotic in the near future. Of course that didn't happen.

I'm hoping that in 2 years time VWFS will offer me a similar cash deal - residuals are going to drop through the floor once the new model comes onto the used market and the price to buy the car at the time will reflect the current market value, in contrast to PCP where the final value is decided at the start of the agreement.

Until then, I'm just going to enjoy the car. Found a new feature too - it seems to have voice command. I just need to RTFM.
