Good day all.

I am looking for a recommendation on a new case for my diy home NAS system.

I need the smallest case / footprint as possible.
I need at least six, 5.25" front bays for SATA/SAS HDD Backplanes.
I do not need any internal bays for Hard Drive, Floppy Drive, or other media.

I also need to fit the following parts into the new case.

Seasonic 650W PSU.
Processor: Intel Core2 Quad Q6600.
MotherBoard: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS4
Memory: 4GB (2x2GB) Corsair CM2X2048-6400C5DHX

I do not have a set budget for the new case, I just need to see what options I have.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your time.

Best Regards.

I really don't think anything 'small footprint' wise exists with 6x 5.25 bays. That spec looks complete overkill for a NAS whatever you do with it.

What's the intended use? Just some streaming? Full backup solution? Most people use HP Microservers, considering their low power consumption, good performance, flexibility and small size.

:EDIT: And on top of the above you are putting an ATX setup in it so it will have to at least be a mid-sized tower case which to me isn't small footprint at all.

I understand that using a ATX board means I am not going to get a very small case, but I don't want to have something big like the HAF cases.

Your right for a standard NAS/Media streaming it is overkill, but it's not just used for that, it also records 4 HD IP CCTV Cameras, 24/7/365, plus hosting my own web sites.
