I am looking to buy a low energy, always on NAS system, however I am struggling to find a suitable case. Ideally I would something small, the main requirement is that it would have to be to accomadate 2 3.5" HD and a DVD drive

The case I like is the Silverstone SG05

By using a laptop dvd drive, they have kept the size as small as possible. This would be an extra bonus to me, as I have a spare laptop dvd burner. The obvious downside is that it can only hold 1 3.5" HDD.

I was wondering if anyone knows of a similar case that can take 2 3.5 HDD (+dvd drive). Ideally in a cube form factor, although if I have to I would consider others (HTPC?).

I am aching for my first build, but can't find a suitable case, Any advice greatly appreciated,

Lian-Li V350 gets my vote. I have on myself and it is perfect for that sort of thing. I wouldn't recommend anything hot going in there but for a low power NAS solution its nice

Try the Silverstone SG02, I have a SG01 which easily accommodates a DVDRW and two hard drives with space for another drive if necessary.

Thanks for that, I have been looking at the cases mentioned.

I think I'm trying to the impossible, squeeze 3 bays (1 dvd burner, 2 3.5HDD drives) into something the size of Silverstone SG05 or not much bigger ?

My next best option is to choose one of the cases mention, These cases are bigger than I would like but do give that extra flexibility. They all look very similar, with 2 x 5.25" and 2 x 3.5" and similar sizes. I have seen that there is a Lian-Li V351, but cant see a difference between that the V350.

One last thing, its hard for me to imagine how exactly they would look in the flesh. Is there anywhere I can see these on display, i.e a store/showroom in or around London ?

Thanks

SG05 & 2 3.5HDD

I have been looking around at the other cases and have decided that they are too big for me, esepcially if it is to be used as a HTPC in the future.

Does anyone have an thoughts as to whether I can squeeze a second 3.5HDD into the Silverstone SG05.

The case will have a 780G Motherboard, a slimline DVD burner and thats it. Is it possible to squeeze two 3.5 HDD into the remainding space ?

Thanks
