Small CCTV problem

Ok, am at work and been given a task I'm struggling with.

We have 4 CCTV cameras at our work which are linked to a DVR and networked so you can access them from a web client using a username and password.

Now, on any PC using Windows XP I can open up internet explorer, add the IP address of the main CCTV unit to the security exceptions list, enable activeX for that site, and it will prompt me for a login and I can get access no problem.

However, when I do the same with a PC running windows 7 it pops up an error saying "failed login" even although it's the same username and password I used to logon from the XP machine.

As far as I can make out the CCTV system uses EnNet software and CMS to control the cameras (if you don't want to use the web client), but I can only find EnNet 2.5 online and can't get it to connect on either XP or Win7. Any thoughts peeps?
 
Tried using Firefox and Opera but just get a black screen and nothing loads even after adding the IP address to the safe zone. Will try Chrome and see what it does.

I tried flicking into developer mode (F12) on IE and could switch to IE8 but would then get an overflow stack error?

That sounds very similar to the issue I've got here. A workaround I use is I've pinned the link to the DVR on the start menu, I'll make sure that Internet Explorer is not open and then I'll click on the link that takes me directly to the DVR, I've also got compatibility mode turned on.

System is Windows 7 x64, IE9.

Does the shortcut take you straight to the IP address of the DVR or the DVR program?
 
Thanks for all the help guys.

I ended up uninstalling IE9 from Windows 7 through windows update. Loaded up IE8 and it worked first time! Wouldn't work in Chrome, Opera or Firefox.
