Morning all,

Can anyone recommend me a cheap and simple access point?

Basically I have a wired connection to a computer in a container that basically blocks all phone signal.

I want to be able to add a small wifi access point just to connect my phone to so I can receive emails and use whatsapp.

Basically im just getting confused between all the powerline adaptors and the full on access points and what does what.

Cheers

Thanks thought of that but I'm already using my old decent routers in the house as access points. The ones I have left are either missing plugs and things or are BT homehubs and im sure I tried to set up with one once and failed.

This'll do what you want i.e. act as a simple access point:

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/tp-link-300mbps-wireless-n-nano-router-tl-wr802n-nw-169-tp.html

It can do other things like act as a bridge, a range extender or make a wired device access wireless networks. Thus it'll do for your current situation and if things change then it may still be able to be re-purposed. for example I take mine on trips away to plug the hotel's ethernet internet access into to create my own hotspot.

Thanks guys yeah have gone with a similar tp link access point to the first one posted. If it works fine will get a few more ordered.
