Chip as in a chunk of the metal missing...

Its an old AMD MP2100+ and the die on the top has a slight chip in it on one side, I thought I would try it in my old dual mobo with my other one anyway and the temperatures are about 7 degrees different. I`m using AS5 imbetween the HSF and die, hoping AS5 will fill the gap and still allow decent heat transfer. Could this give me problems later on, ie can I trust it not to die on me?

Its just a bit of substrate missing, not die logic, else the cpu likely won't work so as long as you don't harass it too much (i.e keep it where it is and leave it alone :D) it should'nt be an issue.
