I`ve read reviews, recommendations ... that just made me more confused

Can`t really seem to find what I really want. My current case (generic with many fans and controller, just not cuttin the mustard) is 470 x 200 and fine size wise. I don`t really want a bigger case if I can get away with it, so long as it fits my HD4870 back to back with a hard drive.

I would like a side window as I have some cathodes that set the innards off just nice.

Thing is, the more I read reviews, they seem to have a myriad of cases with a front intake (120mm) and a rear intake (120mm) ... does that not make them all the same?

Cases I`ve ruled out are the Antec 900 and 1200. Don`t like them. I do like the look of the mirrored P182 but it doesn`t have a side window. Zalman GS1000 looks good and a review I read seems to put it OK but with lousy fans (I can change them tho). Thermaltake Soprano with the side window looks good (and it has dust filters!) but it`s only £50 ... I can spend say £120 (seems the ave) so if it`s just 50 notes, why? :D

Thx team :)

Mmm, bit ugly like. Does that side fan not mess with the airflow front to back? No reviews on it Vince. have you got one?

you mean the soprano?
i've had one, it's not good at cooling, the front panel sees to that by blocking of almost all air from the front fan, and there certainly won't be enough room to fit a new GPU and HDD back to back (i measured it up for when the 8800s came out, one of the reasons i got rid.)

pilky's picked a good one, of course me personally? i'm loving the a05 and it'd be easy enough to get a window cut with part of the remainder of your budget

Nah Vince, I mean the one you mentioned ... you said Lian Li PC7, I said you have one? I`d already mentioned my views on the Soprano ;)

Guys, them Lians are fugly ... they`ve got no soul but thanks very much for opinions :)

you've never seen one in the flesh mate, believe me i thought the same as you and so went for the more flashy cases (antec sonata II/Tt soprano/Tt armour LCS etc) i regret it immensely, lian lis have outstanding quality and are incredibly nice in person.

but each to their own.

i've seen the pc7, pc60, a05 (i currently own this) and v1200 in person, all superb cases.

@Vince ... not each to their own man, they just look fugly on a graphic, never owned one so don`t know (hence the OP). Have you got some better pics to do it justice?

Helios, now yer talkin`! That`s better, bit of character. I`ll have to Google as OCUK description gives it nowt. Bit over budget but meh, you get what you pay for. Lians are still Chinese knock offs though? :D

Helios, found one for £93 quid delivered ... serious contender, thx so much :) :)

Sweet :) i'll post some pics later on of mine. It's a brilliant case! Btw is that price without vat because i know a site which only advertises them as without when i was looking for a cheap b25 as well, only to find it was more expensive than here.

I wanted an a70 as well but I wanted a similar case to what the op wants so decided to settle with the b25. Anyway here are some pics of it and the inside:

Nice pics Helios, thank you. This and taking into account what Vince was saying about the build quality, I`m very tempted. Wish they had this in stock, I`d probably take it.

By the way, that £93 case was the right picture but on checking the code properly, wasn`t B25B Helios. Had beer goggles on!

I have however spotted a P182 for £81 ... yes, that`s right but no mention of shipping costs, I`ll have to find that out.

Any more suggestions, keep them coming. :)
