Small dark patch on LCD screen, any ideas?

I've got an S-IPS 2007wfp, just over a year old and I've been very happy with it until the past few days where I've just noticed a little dark patch on the top left-hand edge. It looks almost like a watermark or something shape-wise and it's got a slight greenish tint to it, it's definitely one of those times where you might not have noticed something for a while but once you do it becomes all you can see.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what might have caused it and whether it's fixable? Or if not, is it likely to get any worse? Does the warranty cover things like this?

You can get screen burn with LCDs although it's very rare. Is there something you run which has a static icon in that location on the screen? Maybe you can post a picture of it.
 
Great stuff, at least I know what it is now. I was also under the impression that there wasn't any danger of burn-in type problems on LCDs but it's good to know there are a few fixes to try and it's probably eligable for a return if none of them work.
