Hello all,

1st time for a small factor build and I have come up with two specs that I cant decide over

1st Spec:

Zotac H55ITX-A-E (Socket 1156) DDR3 Mini ITX Motherboard
Intel Core i3 540 3.06GHz (Clarkdale) (Socket LGA1156) - Retail
Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C8 1333MHz Dual-Channel (CMX4GX3M2A1333C8)
Crucial RealSSD C300 64GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive (CTFDDAC064MAG-1G1)
Silverstone Sugo SG05B Mini-ITX Case - Black (300w PSU)
Samsung SN-S083F/BEBE 8x DVD±RW SATA Drive - OEM

2nd Spec:

Gigabyte GA-H55M-UD2H Intel H55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 microATX Motherboard
Intel Core i3 540 3.06GHz (Clarkdale) (Socket LGA1156) - Retail
Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C8 1333MHz Dual-Channel (CMX4GX3M2A1333C8)
Crucial RealSSD C300 64GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive (CTFDDAC064MAG-1G1)
Lian Li PC-V351B Aluminium Micro ATX Cube Case - Black
TP-Link 300Mbps Wireless N PCI Adapter (TL-WN851N)
LG GH22NS50 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - Retail

I already have a spare PSU for this spec

What are your thoughts on which spec to choose, It will be used for my office, hence no graphics card.

i'd go with a mix....

Gigabyte H55N-USB3 (Socket 1156) DDR3 mini itx Motherboard
Intel Core i3 540 3.06GHz (Clarkdale) (Socket LGA1156) - Retail
Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C8 1333MHz Dual-Channel (CMX4GX3M2A1333C8)
Crucial RealSSD C300 64GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive (CTFDDAC064MAG-1G1)
Silverstone Sugo SG05B Mini-ITX Case - Black (300w PSU)
Samsung SN-S083F/BEBE 8x DVD±RW SATA Drive - OEM

Then just run with a USB wireless N adapter, better still run with Cat5 if you can.....

It might worth waiting until the Core i3 2100 is launched in the next few weeks. The CPU will be faster than a Core i3 540 and have a faster IGP. The new Core i3 will have Quick Sync too for faster video encoding if you use the IGP.

However, you won't be able to overclock the new CPUs.
