I'm building a small form factor PC in a 1U rack case. When I bought it it contained legacy components on a microATX board. I'm slowly swapping these out, but unsure if the current heatsink/fan will be compatible with the new board... If not, then I'm worried I might have a bit of a search on my hands to find a suitable solution.

It's going to contain an ASRock microATX board with an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, and obviously, to fit into a 1U rack case it's going to have to be prettttyyyy small, height-wise, although the fan can probably be a lot larger, circumference-wise. Here's a pic of the system as it stands, so you can get an idea of how big i mean:

If anyone has any suggestions on where to look, or if I can just use the current heatsink/fan somehow (bearing in mind they're currently on a PIII 500MHz but will soon be on a Core 2 Duo...) then please let me know!

Xeon passive maybe with a 60mm fan blowing over it.

may need to fabricate mounts. There about the only heatsinks desighned to go in a 1u case i know of.

What is the name of that case and how deep is it it? I gave up looking for a shallow 1U case a while back. When I next rebuild my home server would likely put an Atom CPU and motherboard in to it.

I don't know what its name is; I bought it off a friend for £20. He actually has another one exactly the same but in beige, if you're interested? I don't know exactly how deep it is, but it fits into a Warwick rack bag which is 47cm deep, so I'd say it's about 45/46?
