It's for a mate. He'll be connecting it to a 42inch TV.

Any improvements that I can make to it? Anything better in terms of components?

As I said it'll be for gaming, watching media and browsing.

He doesn't need a Screen, keyboard, mouse or OS

It's just a first look at things for him. He wants a small case like the one I posted up. The height of the case is paramount. Needs to be small hence looking at the micro size setup.

If it's small case then for getting rid of heat, a non "k" i5 cpu would be doable too. I doubt he'd overclock it. I'll be building it for him and if the non "k" i5 can let the GPU stretch its legs then no problems there.

Didn't see thee 290x for less than the 290...good spot.

Budget was 600 but I'm struggling to do a setup that would be suffice for that price.

If he can get a mobo/cpu/ram/ssd and case as new then he'd take a second hand MM gpu no problems to cut the price down.

Main thing is to fit it all in a small form case. Might need to go back to get measurements from his livingroom and see what cases I can work with.

Would this card be a decent option for a 40" tv which will be the "monitor" for the build? I'm presuming the 40" is just 1080 as it's a fairly old tv.
