Hi, my pc's PSU just died, looking how all the cables are cleverly tucked it's going to be fiddly, I'm just thinking it's time to replace the lot ;P
So I'm looking for as future proof as possible, i7, 16GB, GTX 1080 and a smaller case preferably. I run cubase with a bunch of plugins, planning to get No Man's Sky to play, I have a 1080p monitor which I plan to upgrade to 1440 or 4k in a few months.
I'm currently looking at:
Titan Hadron Micro ATX Gaming PC - Intel Core i5/i7 Skylake
Stock Code FS-149-OG
Built To Order
£1,586.93*
Case Raijintek Styx - Windowed - Gold Micro ATX Case
Operating System Microsoft Windows 10 64-Bit DVD - OEM (MS-KW9-00139)
Motherboard Asus Z170M-Plus Intel Z170 (Socket 1151) DDR4 Micro ATX Motherboard
Memory Team Group Elite 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-19200C16 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit - Black (TPKD416GM2400HC16D
Processor Intel Core i7-6700 3.40GHz (Skylake) Socket LGA1151 Processor - Retail
Primary Solid State Drive / Hard Drive Samsung 500GB 750 EVO SSD 2.5" SATA 6Gbps Solid State Drive
Graphics Card Zotac GeForce GTX 1080 AMP Edition 8192MB GDDR5X PCI-Express Graphics Card (ZT-P10800C-10P)
A couple of questions before pulling the trigger.
- I would select the fastest 4.0 processor option but it's listed as not currently available, is it worth waiting for it to be available (doesn't indicate a timeline)?
- the configurator doesn't offer the sm951 format SSD, does that indicate a future limitation of this setup?
- i have a couple of 2.5" SSDs, does the case/PSU have enough space and spare power connectors to add them in?
Advice welcomed!
