I want to put together a gaming rig for some popular titles like BF3, Civ 5 and Elder Scroll V. it will mainly be used for gaming.

But I want to have one with smaller size so much so like the Alienware X51.

I am willing to spend bit more than 750 pounds.

Could some one please write me a spec? Thanks.

you're not gonna get an i7 on that budget mate.
750 less the os, keyboard, mouse monitor = 500
i7 is already more than half your budget for the computer itself

most of the components that I have are out-dated. so I want it from scratch. thanks.

You're kidding right. Your build in the your sig?

I'd replace the guts (CPU - motherboard - memory), maybe a new GPU (670) and that's about it. If you want a i7, it might just about work.

i prefer an i7 CPU, nVidia GPU and a mini-ITX board.

With your budget? And why mini-itx? Prodigy build?

Actually my friend's youngest son needs a new computer for gaming and kid's school homework. So I want to build a new one.

All right.

Going small is a pain really. It's more expensive, and fitting a full rig in that budget, just too many compromises.

Something like tamzzy's. Maybe possible you can upgrade to a 2500K, with a 560ti, and **** peripherals. Else stick with the i3, and upgrade to a i5 later. Or spend an extra £70 for a 3570K. Which is coincidently the price of the OS.

There isn't a NVidia card comparable to the 7850 at the moment. You will have to go back to a 560ti 448 / 570, with less Vram.

If your going for the prodigy, or any cube case, the possibilities for overclocking are truely limited. I should know. If i want to overclock i can't have my PC on my desk, it has to be on the floor in the shade. Any sunlight near it, makes the temp rise a bit, as its a small case too.

another option would be a second-hand 2500k.

yeah right lol

"Falcon Northwest has managed to pack a lot of hardware into this small space. Our review unit arrived with a Core i7 3770K processor, an EVGA GTX 680 superclocked graphics card and a Crucial M4 solid state drive (paired with a 2TB Western Digital mechanical drives). The price tag for this configuration is a cool $2,812."

$2812 is 1900 pounds btw
