Small home network issue - 2 routers

Right so I have the issue that my 2 pcs can't see each other on the network - I think I know why, I just wondered if there's a solution?

I have the ADSL connection coming into my Sky Hub which then has my netgear router plugged into it over a homeplug to my desktop in another room.
My server is sat next to the Sky Hub and so is plugged into it as well.

Now the server is getting internet from the Sky Hub all fine and dandy but is blissfully unaware of any other PC existing. Likewise my main PC that is attached to the netgear is unaware of the Server's existence.

Is this solvable using IPs and whatnot or is it the hardware setup?

Thanks

Don't use 2x routers
Don't use homeplugs

If you must use the second router instead of a switch, disable the DHCP server on the second router and give it an IP outside the range that the first router gives out.

IE. if router 1 is 192.168.1.1, set it's range to something like 192.168.1.10-192.168.1.255, then manually set the second router to be 192.168.1.2 and disable DHCP. This way you can use it as a wireless access point + switch.
