Hello there,

Just finished building my new little Raijintek Métis rig. Very pleased with it. Might swap my H60 cooler for something more low profile though. That's another story.

Anyway, currently I've got a rather bulky 500W OCZ non modular power supply. No room for my 560ti card.

Any smaller PSUs that are modular you guys recommend?

Cheers,
Alex.

They are so expensive though and not worth the money in my opinion but if that's what you need to get the gpu in you don't have a lot of choice. This is the problem with ITX cases where everything is crammed in. Another problem is that there is a lack of quality small capacity modular psu's for sale on here. It is something that really needs to be addressed. If it's the cables that are getting in the way and you can get away with a modular full sized psu there is the Seasonic G series 450w but it's really overpriced for what it is plus it's not fully modular. The hard wired leads are the 24 pin and 8 pin which you would be using anyway.

Cheaper but only bronze rated is the http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-052-EN&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=2432. Same hardwired leads as the Seasonic.

Not a recommendation as I personally don't like Corsair but there is the Corsair CS450M. It's gold rated but just looks so cheap.

Apart from those that's about it. There's the Corsair CX430M but the CX series are rubbish and built with cheap internals.

***Edit*** There's a new Sileverstone 500w fully modular psu coming soon, the SST-SX500-LG and is in between a full size ATX psu and a ITX psu with dimensions of 125 × 63.5 × 130 mm (WxHxD). They have stuck a 120mm fan with hybrid mode in it so it should be a lot quieter than the smaller units with 80mm fans. Price is still going to be around £75 though.

Okay thanks. I don't want to spend more than £50 so it'll have to be non modular. In that case would the Superflower Green PSUs be good? They look small.

They are 145mm(L) x 150mm(W) x 86mm(H) so only 5mm shorter than a standard 150x150mm atx psu and 5mm longer than the 140x150mm units that are more common around the 300-500w rating. You don't say what OCZ unit you have but the OCZ StealthXStream units were 140mm long. You will probably have the same problem as you do with the OCZ and I would suggest you meaure the length of your current unit.
