Small monitor as a second one

I've got an LG194WT (19")as my primary monitor, mainly because it was cheap, and had both DVI and VGA inputs so I can play my PS2 on it as well.

Though while playing games, I'd like to be able to keep on MSN on one screen while playing on the other. Maybe web browsing at the same time.
Firstly, is this possible with two monitors? one full screen with a game, but can I just scroll the mouse into the other monitor or something? Using vista, if that matters.
Also, won't this be annoying in RTS games? Try to scroll at that side of the screen and the mouse flies into the other desktop?

Thanks for the answers :)

Though I haven't tried under vista, I found that it is unpractical to try and use a second monitor while playing a full screen game on the other. Usually going into the menu allows you to bring your cursor across to the second monitor unfortunately as soon as you click the game will minimise. The second monitor can still be used to monitor other applications such as media players, conversations or temperatures.
This was quite a while ago however and perhaps now there are solutions to such problems now.

im running 2x24inch in vista64

this is correct

Aw nuts. I'd have thought that after this time there would be a way around that.

Still, thats probably better than nothing if I can find a cheap flatscreen. Most games can cope with alt+tabbing now, its just knowing when to. Plus, it would let ,e IM and play PS2 at the same time.
