I've been toying with the idea of getting a proper controller for Traktor so I can start DJing out again. Doing so would also mean buying a laptop, which I don't really want to do.
No point getting an expensive one for just DJing, and cheapo ones will chug and get outdated really quickly.
So this gave me an idea for a project.
A SFF system (so I can upgrade from time to time) with a small 13" or smaller screen attached to it.
The SFF can be put together over time with 2nd hand parts to save on cash, and I think it would be quite novel to see such a set up.
So really I am trying to find a stand-alone screen that is 10-13" and 1280x800 or 1366x768 with HDMI in. Powered by USB would be a huge plus, but not a requirement.
Searched and searched and found some weird things like the GeChic On-Lap, but nothing really purchasable in the UK. Some portable flip down tvs like you get for cars/boats/kitchens could work, but they are >£150 which would make getting a laptop a better option.
Any body have any ideas? Essentially I want to build a mini AOI system (they usually have normal sized monitors, but I need portability).
