That's nothing - did you ever see the pictures of that green tinted clear acrylic mATX monstrosity I built? It was hideous. Actually it redefined hideous. It took me a YEAR to sell the case on. @self for being so stupid.

It has EVERYTHING wrong with it - 120mm fan bodged onto 80mm fan port, 80mm fan bodged onto 60mm fan port. Hideous Thermaltake fan controller. And eek LED fans everywhere. Green LEDs as well.

So you see atocp: I'm really only trying to stop you making the same mistakes I've already made

and i do appreciate it. i've just got an idea in my head of what i'd like my computer setup to look and work like. thats the problem. it's getting past whats in my mind with what works best.
i think i'll look into getting a new cheap case with some 120mm spaces on it. i can't say im going to get something minimalistic as the lian-li one you suggested. but i dont think i'll go down the route of green acryllic plastic either.

Are there radiators out there for fans this size? Preferably good makes. Or can you you buy extension brackets that will allow an 120mm fan on a 120mm rad to be mounted to where there used to be a 80mm fan?

i think the answer has been pretty much said.
1. you can get 80's, but 120's would work better.
2. extension brackets do exist, but it would be more sensible to get a different case purposely designed to take 120 fans.
3. irishmen do have a sense of direction
4. green acryllic is not as sexy as it seems on a computer.

cheers to all of you who have given the advice and steered me in a more appropriate direction in my quest for a water cooling setup. now all i have to do is find out what a radiator is.
