was getting a £600 pc but i need a motorbike first so and sold my other pc for a good bit of money hehe.

so i am looking for a pc that will keep me on the net and play my music/videos untill i can save up for a really nice one to play games on.

not sure how cheap i can go on this i would like a very small case (cube style maybe) witch is not so cheap but i can see what the price comes to when the main stuff is chosen.

budget wise well not sure if some one could make a build for cheap a pos that would be great thanks.

monitor res 1440/900 ( maybe i would need a cheap graphics card?

thought i will add that i don't mind items that are clearance & B-Grade

i mean they all work the same hehe also i found some where i can get case/psu/keyboard/mouse all in one for cheap :)

Your best best might be look secondhand. There's probably loads of people wanting to sell older kit that's perfectly capable of doing what you want for under £200.

What brand is that case & PSU? Unless a reputable one like Antec, I'd be weary of what's housing & feeding the PC. Might cost more, but those 2 important components normally outlast/live the other parts of your PC.

Clearance & B-Grade is a good idea ;) My back-up system which was the main PC, is still going strong & that was built with mostly B-grade parts :)

256mb of ram is hell to use, having music playing and msn and to many broswer windows open will bring it to a stand still. i would not buy that second hand pc.

What you need is onboard graphics and sound.

Here is my spec. Add 45-50 quid for a mobo with onboard sound and graphics as youll need to buy it from else where where it is infact 10 quid cheaper i beleive then ocuk lol.

Add this mobo into this spec and it will play up to 1080i so it will do you:

:NOTE:

It does not have a dvd rewriter. You could but one of them instead if you add another 10 quid on and that will save you money on your gaming pc. Also it has 2x 512 sticks of ram. If you get 2x1gb for another 10 quid that too will save you money on your gaming pc in the long run.

The hard drive is the fastest in its class and therefore you wont need to buy another for your gaming pc. But they can be a bit loud. But if you got the antec p182 case then you wont really hear it as its very good for keeping things quiet and cool.
