Hi guys,

I need a small footprint gaming beast. :)

This will be a short term build for summer LAN

I will need to fit a long GPU

I also have an i7 2600k

basically I need: cooler, case and motherboard

I would like it to be as light and small as possible, if it can be red and black even better.

cheaper the better

For the case the most popular choice on these forums is the Bitfenix Prodigy at £70 - lots of airflow and has space for a large HSF or watercooling too I believe. Though not the smallest mini-itx case there is you can fit a lot into it and has good airflow. The Phenom is similar but a bit smaller.

At the other end of the scale the Coolermaster Elite 120 (£40) which I went for supports high end gfx cards, has a 120mm intake fan however the coolers are limited to 65mm "top down" coolers like the Noctua NH-L9i, Xigmatek Praeton etc. I'll be honest, it gets toasty in there with my CPU which is 100w tdp.
For £5 more the CM Elite 130 accommodates watercooling.

Another case I would have chosen if I wasn't on such a tight budget at the time is the Antec ISK 600 - 120mm quiet fan included and accommodates a larger HSF, on par size wise with the coolermaster 120.

All of these cases come in black.

The CM Elite 130 is probably a good shout for the case. Will you be overclocking this?
