I'm looking forward to watching this on on BBC iPlayer later.

It's been created, written and directed by the most excellent Mackenzie Crook, whose Detectorists was an absolute stand out series for me.

I'm hoping this can capture some of the same magic, even if the subject matter is completely different.

Overview
The magical and the mundane unfolds in a suburban shed as a lonely man stumbles into the supernatural. A mystical recipe in an old journal promises Michael Sleep the answers he longs for.

I finished the first season last night and really enjoyed it. Really well paced, funny, charming and relatable at the same time. Definitely more my style of TV than the in your face try-hard slapstick stuff we seem to get. I'm also a big fan of The Detectorists so that helps. Hopefully a second season isn't too far away.

Its a pleasant watch, few weird mis-steps in places but it's got the detectorists' feel as its just a nice easy, comfy watch with plenty of thought put into it.
