Just bought my daughter a new case and the old CPU cooler is too big as it it stops me from installing a fan in the roof of the case.

So, i need to change the CPU heatsink.

Not sure on the name of the current one. Suffice to say it is a low cooler with a 120mm fan on it. This stops me from installing a fan in the roof.

Its an Intel i3 CPU. Socket 1155.

Any ideas on a quiet, small Heatsink and fan? Can be a tall one if need be. Just not a low profile heatsink with 120mm fan.

Case is the

H210 MINI-ITX GAMING CASE

Would be lot easier if you knew what's the model of that current too space hogging cooler.

Arctic Freezer 34 is among the more compact 120mm fanned heatsinks.

Smaller thatn that are really with 92mm fan.

And with good intake fans there isn't that big need for many exhaust fans.
Geometry of stock fans looks very bad for pressure.

Looks good. Thanks

Just hope there is enough room to fit the top case fan?

Do you need a fan in the top of the case?

Would have thought as long as you have at least one intake fan in the front of the case and one exhaust fan at the rear of the case, that would be enough. I would have two fans in the front though.

Can you post a pic, so we can see what cooler you have at the moment?

Don't know what cooler you have but if it fits without top fan I would use it. Top fans tend to pull air up and out letting heated air coming off of GPU move up and into CPU cooler making CPU run hotter and make more fan noise.

A couple of good 140mm front intake fans like 2-pack of PH-F140MP for £16.26 or £8.13 a fan

I suggest removing unused PCie slot covers to increase rear venting (not many in ITX anyway) and you should have a nice cool and quiet system.

Some like Arctic's new P14 series fans, but OcUK is out of stock for PWM model at £6.95 and variable voltage is £5.95, so only £2.18 each less than PH-F140MP in 2-pack .. and you need 2 anyway. Just re-checked and Phanteks are out of stock now too. :(
