It's fair to say that the audio in my Van is completely dire. I spend a lot of time driving it between jobs so think it wouldn't be a waste of money to improve on it a little.

Options are very limited. I have a fairly good headunit, Alpine 9851R. It's about 5 years old now but still going strong and was about £250 new.

I think a pair of small infinity component speakers would sound good coupled with a small sub woofer.

The components have to be small as they are in-dash, I have a few options for mounting tweeters so would do some testing with location.

With regards to the sub I have space behind the drivers seat, similar sort of space to that in a MR2 or MX-5 when the seat isn't all the way back (I am a short-ass).

One thing I don't want is to look like a barry boy with booming bass in the van i'nnit. Just need something low down where there is currently nothing.

Hope the above makes sense. Cheers.

I'm not sure about the connections, but the sub on a Bose equipped Audi A3 is pretty small, mine is in the side of the boot between the body (shell) and the boot lining taking zero room from the boot. You'd never know there was a sub in it!

Edit, here's one for an A4, you'd have to check whether you could get it working with your HU though.
