Due to the fact we will have another addition to the family in june i am losing my room to my child,so i will ned to put the computer downstairs....I want to go th shuttle route but know nothing about them so could someone spec me one up for say 500 quid i dont need anything other than the system as i have monitor etc

well there are 2 options you can go for

1 is to buy a shuttle and add parts that you would like
2 is to buy a nice sff case and add parts

option 1

AMD Build.

add a gfx card of your choice. but make sure it fits

Intel Build.

add a gfx card of your choice. but make sure it fits

options 2 is to buy a case like an Silver Stone Sugo 01, 02, 03

option 2 is more flexible as you can pick what board psu case and so on. but the
case sizes are bigger than a shuttle. not a lot tho

i hope that helps.

I've not read anything about either Shuttle model, but if going the AMD route I would consider Black Edition 5000+

Black Edition 5000+ don't come with HSF so if your going with a
sff case make sure the HSF you buy fits.

cheers for the info....are you restricted as far as graphics cards are concerned.....and are the speeds of these systems on par with full tower systems

yea your gfx card limited because of space and psu power with most shuttles

but for a sff system you have more of a choice.

as for the power n speed of the system it all depends on what you put it in.
also you cant OC with most small systems. well you can upto a point.
so the system doesn't cool as well as a full sized system.
