I need a small toolkit to work with computers and other hobby electronics and was wondering what people would recommend? I looked at the iFixit toolkit and it looks good but was curious if any other options are out there.

Couple of crosshead screwdrivers, no1 & 2, needle nose pliers and cutters that's about.

Don't really need a toolkit tbh
I mean that's true.

I got it as a present, can't be sure being as tight as I am I'd have ever got one

That kit has all sorts of gubbins good for other things too, used it on watches and phones so it's worth it if it's for more than just a pc.

I think I'll just get the toolkit as you can just put in a draw out of the way and I don't have to faff about with getting individual pieces.

Another one for the iFixit kits. They are fantastic.

If you're really lazy like me, I would also recommend the DeWalt 12V electric screwdriver.

This and a hex driver for nipping up the motherboard stand-offs before you install the motherboard. Nothing worse than undoing a motherboard screw, only to feel the motherboard stand-off spinning too.

And also a small paintbrush to help you clean the dust from heatsinks and components.

iFixit Mako 64 bit kit will last you a lifetime and does a whole range of devices.

Absolutely agreed.

I picked this kit up awhile back for around £30 and its been a godsend, I already had a few other bits and bobs or I'd have sprung for the larger pro kit. Incredibly useful, not just for PC related kit either, it's handy for a whole range of things.

You can take apart pretty much anything with it. Putting it back together is another story lol

Even sadder, I have nearly all the smaller tools of this.

I don't have the specialist tools in the cases, bearing press, wheel/ rear deralleur frame alignment tool- too expensive and too rarely used. Got a wheel truing stand though

Don't need much for PC building, pliers for standoffs is fine, couple of screwdrivers
