Hi

I was just thinking about something that would (in my head atleast) be quite cool.

would it be possible to have a small screen, say 5 or 6 inches, that is a touch screen. sit it around where your mouse is and have it have your start menu and all your desktop icons on it. you could then have a sort of mini control panel that you launch application from, and have your main monitor clean and crisp and just displaying the open apps, not all the icons and menus?

is this even possible? and what would be needed for it to work?

Cheers

no, probubly not, but something like a PDA would do the job, just a little screen to have all your icons and menus and toolbar on so that u can access everything and still have the whole of your screen for apps. on my second monitor at work its nice to have a complete screen for some things. its surprising how much bigger a screen feels when you remove a double height task bar.

hmm , it possible but it would cost you a bit ( touch screen cost n arm and leg)

With the touch screen you get a driver , there is a serial cable that goes into your pc serial port and this allows you to touch the screen and move your mouse pointer to what u touch.

You can double tap to get stuff to launch

As for config you need a dual output video card and then you plug your other output to the vga on the new touch screen you then you extend your desktop onto the new screen with a suitable screen resolution.
