Yeah not a clue. Maybe SB-E reqires more power than we thought and the usual 24-pin + 8-pin ATX is not enough. I know that other X79 boards have 6-pin PCI-e power sockets on them so I guess ASRock just went with something they thought a lot of people would have extra of.

Molex is there to provide auxiliary power to the PCI-E slots if you are using multi-GPU configurations.

Quad-channel SO-DIMMs would be the only way. Would be cool though but very very unlikely, there are no 1366 ITX boards and that was only tri-channel.

Can you imagine a tri-fire setup on the Asrock in a mATX case? Would have to be watercooled, but the thought still tickles me that I could do that in a case that's a third the size of a my brother-in-laws 700d

I'm sure we'll see an Asus Rampage IV GENE in the usual red and black as well.
Any low profile 2011 coolers out yet?
Saying that I think I read that the 2011 CPUs come with an Intel water cooler.
