Hi guys,

So im after so ideas on good Cpu coolers that will fit, or a low profile heat sink with custom fan.

Im looking to order or fetch the cooler tomorrow as im building the new rig on Saturday.

This is the first SFF rig ive built an im stuck at the Cpu cooler :(

Cheers for any help guys an girls! :D

My choice would be one of these 3:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Noctua NH-L12 CPU Cooler (Socket Intel LGA2011/1366/1156/1155/775/AMD AM2/AM2+/AM3/AM3+/FM1) £49.99
1 x Silverstone SST-NT06-E CPU-Cooler £28.99
1 x Scythe Shuriken Rev.B Quiet Low Profile CPU Cooler (Socket 939/940/AM2/AM2+/AM3/LGA775/LGA1155/LGA1156/LGA1366) £27.98
Total : £117.47 (includes shipping : £8.75).

The noctua measures at 93mm high with the top fan.

Another option is the scythe BIG. not sure if its an improvment on the 'non-big' or not though.

Cheers Stulid but it looks like that one blocks the first ram slot :(

Been thinking about giving this ago,
http://xyexz.wordpress.com/2012/08/03/curiously-crazy-project-a30-d620/
But not cutting the center out but drilling it, with the weight of the fans an rad that's got to make some vibration sounds from the jagged cuts on the original air flow holes.

Then covering it with this to give it a nicer finish as the fan guard finish looks nasty.

Hey CyberCrow, saw some hits from my site to this thread and thought I'd comment :D

I will tell you that cutting the holes the way I did didn't weaken the chassis at all and definitely doesn't cause vibrations.

Also the noise coming from the fans and the cuts I made is so low I doubt you'd be able to hear them. I know playing BF3 I can't hear them at all which covers about 70% of my pc use :D

I had thought about putting a grommet of some kind around the hole edge that I cut but once I fired it up I was pleased with how it was plus I think it looks kind of cool - all the edges were sanded completely smooth so that may have helped as well.

As far as your fan grill goes that would look sweet but you may run into challenges as the beveled section for the stock window gets in the way for square of even completely solid-edged circular grills like the ones from mnpctech.com.

That's why I ended up going with the wire grill although I may paint them or try to mod the case further to fit different ones.

You'll have to play around with placement and see if you can get things to fit better, cables for the front connectors played a key role in the placement of the rads.

Anyways thanks for checking out the site - curious to see what you do with your A30, I think it's a good case that just needs a little modding to become a great case.
