Is there a same or smaller alternative to the Silverstone SG-05/06, but still capable of fitting a Gigabyte 6850 with dimensions H=38 mm, L=290 mm, W=126 mm (plus some space on end for auxiliary power lead)?

Not interested in Lian-Li that fit a full sized PSU. Not interested in Shuttle barebones.

I had a good look around not too long ago at alternatives to the LL cases, as I didn't want an upright cube style case. I settled on the SG05 as being the smallest case that I could fit a full size GPU in, and I cannot recall any others.

Most of the Itx cases are limited by the height, and will only take a low profile GPU. If you decide on one of those, I'd recommend the Antec ISK.

You would think there would be more choice looking at getting a itx case myself but want good gpu card as it will be my main gaming system.
Real problem is gpu cards being so big an need a lot of power pushes the size up for itx cases to matx size almost.
Silverstone sg05 is what I was thinking of getting but now looking at bigger itx cases.

Is there something specific about the SG-05/06 you don't like?

Was interested in better build and material quality than steel and plastic Sugo.

And thought there might be cases with improved layout to reduce case size. Such as using a riser card to fit graphics in a low profile case (bigger foot print but smaller case capacity).

Antec Skelly?

Prefer solid case, as not a frequent duster.

Nonsense. you can get a GTX570 into an SG05/06. The smallest case I have found that will fit a full size GPU is the SG07/08.

I'd personally go with either the lian li that can fit a gtx 590 (can't remember the name :p) or an sg07

I'm may be getting sg08 now so will this itx case take any full size gpu or only some an will the psu be powerful enough to run all the gpu that do fit the case an without mods.
Plan to get i5 2500k will overclocked an 8 gig ram 1x ssd 1x hard drive.
Would really like itx case that fitted any full size gpu an could power them that was not too big.
should have started my own thread really.

I think the PSU would be on the edge if you picked a multi GPU card but otherwise should be just fine. Personally when I get an SG08 (rest assured I will be getting one) I am going to fit an FSP Aurum PSU as it is the only 80+ Gold PSU that can fit in the case with decent range of wattages avaliable. All others that fit the smaller ATX form factor in the 80+ Gold range were OEMs that maxed out at 300W which is not useful.

Google "Cubitek mini tank".

It's a bit of a monster as far as itx cases go,but you can throw an extremely large amount of hardware in it.

The Nexus NX-5000 R3 530w is also a good choice for cases that will take "smaller" full size atx psu's.
86 x 150 x 125 mm you won't find anything smaller in fullsize atx.
41A and 492w available on the +12 volt,it's a cracking little psu.
Not going to run a multi-gpu setup obviously, but that's not why you'd buy it in the first place.

Silent and rock solid, been using one for months in a GD-05 gaming build.

Thanks for the replys will using the SGO8 psu but nice to know I can upgrade to better one that fits will have ati 5850 gpu from my old rig planning to upgrade the gpu for new games releases end of this year will stick to single gpu card.
Just the cpu coolers to check out now will wait to see what gropingmantis an other buy for this case.
Will be still checking out other itx cases that Cubitek mini tank sounds like a monster don't really want to go any bigger than SG08.

Ill be using my AXP-140 in the SG08. There can be issues with it in the case though as some people have found in the SG07 you have to have a 120mm fan rather than a 140mm to allow room for the optical drive but thats not a huge issue as cooling with the 120mm fan on this cooler is pretty damn good still.

Was not planning to get an optical drive for the sg08 already have a usb 2.0 external powered dvdrw I can use.
AXP-140 RT Thermalright CPU Cooler looks good not too big.

That looks bloody awful, give me a nice cube any day :)

I'm joining you chaps in the wait for the SG08, I think i'll get an external powered USB DVDRW as I hardly use optical drives any more and it will free up more space in the case. Also plan on using the included PSU to power a i7 2600k and a GTX580 and don't expect any problems :)
