Looking for a nice little desktop to house my downloader/server... Currently got it in a Scorpio but is waaaay too big... Only needs to house a M-ATX PIII Motherboard, DVD rom, floppy, hdd and psu and thats about it... Evel flex-atx will do... even thinking about custom making something...

yeah.. had an antec aria before but sold it... ITX is too small... dont want to go to the expense of buying notebook cdrom/hdd... Already got everything except mobo and case... may look at an Antec Minuet.. ;)

Hiper media centre. Is stupidly small, although does need a Laptop drive and "only" has a 200w PSU. Think they are like 5cm high or something - smaller than most dvd drives and look the part aswel.

Otherwise Aspire X-Qpack - black non-windowed version. looks swish

It depends how small you want it, and it's a tower not a desktop, but I recently got this Chieftec for a new build (no room at uni, and mATX is plenty powerful enough as a platform), takes standard ATX PSUs, room for 2 drives, and I imagine would be nice to work with:

Does it have a model number or something ? Is it available at OcUK ?

There are several other ones with the same internals but a different fascia.

Might be worth taking a look at the Cheiftec website as I think this range is current.

I have done, some of those look really nice.

I keep thinking of going this way rather than shuttle, just never found a nice enough (and small enough) case.

Back in the day you used to get Tower, Midi and Mini (mini having 1 or 2 CD Drive bays) - I always though they looked good.

Thanks again...

Yeah but most boards now have Onboard LAN, Audio And GFX so its not a major concern... Unless you are wanting to use graphics or whatever... But even some ATI cards that are sufficent for a HTPC come in low profile... ;)

Just worth mentioning it incase he needed full height cards :p

If you do not check you may not notice and drop one when you try and build it.

You dont need notebook hd's or cd drives for an ITX system. Most ITX cases can take a normal 3.5" HD and some will take a normal cd drive.
