smallest sandybridge mobo with 4 dimm ?

Looking for the smallest footprint sandybridge mobo that will take 4 x memory sticks

appears to be nothing in the mitx form

I cant find any 8Gb RAM strips, but it is supported in itx, so it must be coming. Does it have to be 4 slots if you could have 16GB in 2 slots ?

I bought 16 gig vengeance to put in my Shuttle SX48P2 Deluxe as its last ever upgrade [already has a 9650 and an SSD]

but it wont boot with it

, seems incompatible [ram works fine in another sandybridge system], so I'll sell the SX48P2 and build another sandybridge small form factor now

AFAIK - A quick google says max mem on the SX48P2 is 8gig but I could be wrong ?

mATX is the smallest you can go and keep 4 slots. Although there are a lot of mITX boards with two slots claiming to support 16GB so it can't be long before we get 8GB strips.

yep and thats probably the reason I settled with 8 for so long, it was an impulse buy on the 16gig
