when i bought my acer laptop 2 years ago it came with a smartcard reader and 2 cards which i use to stop my laptop booting up with out a card inserted (OTT security, but its cool

my brother has recently got a laptop with a reader built in however it did not come with any cards. i'm not asking for competitors however i would like a little information to help me look for them, as i don't really know anything about them which made searching near impossible.
any help would be appreciated.
(looking for blank cards, not for getting into banks etc!
