I have a hue hub with a mixture of hue bulbs and dimmers and IKEA trådfri bulbs and dimmers.
Pairing the IKEA switches and getting them to work via voice control is a little bit annoying because the switches do not show up on any software of the hub. They just kinda work or don't.
My main problem now is that the switches seem to just unpair at random.
24h after everything was working fine.
The ikea bedroom switch unpaired from the single bulb but the bulb was still reacting to voice and software on and off.
Approx 1 week later my lounge lights have stopped working in the same way. The lounge is a big deal as it's 6 lights and a mixture of colours. Much bigger pain to set up.
I'm using hue essentials to pair the 2 types of bulbs and switches together. This app has a mode that allows stuff to communicate over ZigBee protocol.i know the IKEA switches work differently to the hue ones, the hue ones essentially act as mini hubs, the IKEA as independent items.
Anyway... Does anyone have any tips?
I'm thinking of dumping all the remaining IKEA switches and replacing them with hue, it should work, but this setup should be fine too. Just for some reason the switches stop playing.
