My mum already has a non smart phone but wanting to get a smart phone so she can receive WhatsApp msgs from family, see photos etc.

I’m currently thinking an iPhone SE, but it’s doesn’t need to be Apple, just want something easy for her to use, with contrast features would be good.

I’m currently thinking iPhone SE but not committed to Apple so can be an Android.

Any thoughts?

she’s not tech savvy so simple to use is preferred, the android market is proliferated so don’t know where to begin!

Might be difficult to move over to a smart phone.
This is a concern, but I think the benefits will outweigh, especially if I can keep the home screen simple, she’s not going to be taking photos/ video or downloading apps.

I'd go with something like the Nokia G42 5G. Cheap at £169.99 direct. Has a good sized screen at 6.5" (elderly user might need the real estate to increase font and icon sizes). 6GB RAM, 128GB storage (can add microsd), 5000mAh battery. They are dual sim, battery can be replaced if needs be. And Nokia say it'll get 3 years of security updates.
Thanks for this recco, never heard of this! Quick look at reviews it seems perfect, much appreciated.
