Hi all

Were looking to get the mother in law a Smart TV for her bedroom, She says she doesn't have an ariel on the house so she doesn't want one... How can we get around this? Can we buy a little antenna or have we got to get one put up?

Cheers

You can stream most things. It's very rare that we use the internal tuner on our TVs.

Whether you'd get away with an internal antenna on not will depend on where she lives relative to the transmitter.

For my upstairs TV, I put a full-sized antenna in the loft (log-periodic). It's just chucked on top of the insulation pointing in roughly the right direction.

Downstairs the TV has a satellite tuner so is connected to the disk we used to use for Sky.

She basically wants just the usual channels like BBC1, 2 ITV and Channel 4,5 and maybe Netflix now and then... She has Sky downstairs but on an evening likes to chill in bed... So whats the best bet regarding ariel for those channels, I'm guessing for Netflix it doesn't need an ariel
