I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but here goes

Thought I’d start a thread regarding smart watches.

I've been thinking about getting one for a while but have read a lot of mixed reviews.

The only one out that has all the features I currently want is the gen 2 Moto 360 sport.

Anyone have experience with it or any other smart watches?

I got one for £6 from ebay
The app I had to install may be stealing all my banking details but I can run around speaking into my wrist pretending to be a spy so it's worth it!

I never owned one but am sure that I read that most of them need the battery to be recharged about every 2 days..:(
As a few months ago I was looking at buying one the Samsung ones till I read that battery only lasts about 2 days..

Our first week of Moto 360 battery life tests always gave us a few hours shy of a full day per charge.

Edit: I just read the review for the new second-generation Moto 360 and that one last about a day and half..

I bought a kairos smart watch two years ago, still not received it and it looks rubbish so I'm not that fussed anymore :p

also had the gear r, perfectly fun for a week or two but long term, pointless, for my needs at least.

Smart watches never appealed to me on the basis they struggle to last 24hours, so 1 missed charge and they are useless..

But when the pebbles where on offer at Christmas and I had nothing better to spend my Amazon vouchers on, I thought I'd try the pebble steel, 7 day battery life, loads of apps and they seem to review well for they are.

To my surprise is been really useful, getting all my notifications discretely whilst in a meeting, being able to quickly reject calls quickly or send a text reply, designing my own watch face exactly how I want it and even controlling my kodi media box, all with at least 7 days battery life, and takes bugger all time to charge when it does need it.

If you can put up with a mere 3 days of battery life, then the pebble round is , and I know this is shocking, the size of a normal watch. .. lol

Personally I think the pebbles are just the right mix, no touchscreen or pretence it's a powerhouse, but it does what a smart watch should do with the right battery life to make it always available as a great companion to your phone, and works perfectly on Apple and android.

The other day I was with some of my wife's friends. We were on Oxford Street. One of those friends bumped in to another friend. I did not know this person. Eventually her phone rang, she looked at her smart watch, pulled her phone out of her pocket and answered it. She looked a right plank and deservedly so. These things boggle my mind, they're on par with people who wear Bluetooth headsets because "it's cool". No. Looks stupid. You look stupid. Stop being stupid. You're better than this.

They look no worse than those huge garish watches people seem to love.

I have a pebble . Four day battery life. You can reject PPI and accident claim company phone calls without taking your phone out of your pocket.
Four day battery life , thousands of crap apps and screen designs.
And best of all it tells the time. Whats not to like.

Had a Moto 360 for about 18 months now. My next watch will probably be something along the lines of a Withings Activité. More of a traditional watch with a built in health tracker. I use the Moto 360 for changing music tracks/adjusting volume while running and as a health tracker, and that's it. Oh, and also the time...the rest is just a gimmick in my honest opinion.
