Smartwatch with heart rate monitor?

Hi, I am clueless when it comes to Smartwatches as I have never owned one and the choice is bewildering!

Has anyone any recommendations' for something that would track my heartrate reasonably accurately. I would only be using it for walking...

If you have an iPhone, the apple watch is an obvious choice.

Thanks for suggestion. I do have an iPhone but I would prefer something other than Apple.

What's your budget. Take a look at Garmin watches. I've been wearing them for years. It's a very mature product and app for analysis.

Garmin wins hands down if you don't care about the smartwatch aspect.

Something like the 245 would be fine.

Literally the watch I have and the heart rate tracks virtually identical to a chest strap so I have confidence in the readings.

Yep, 245 is good. 255 has the newer sensor. If you're very keen then the fenix 7 pro and i think the 965 have even newer hr sensors.

I have the 745, old now, but still great. Especially for walking etc.

The battery life alone makes a Garmin worth it.

Go for whatever Garmin matches. 255 is probably your best bet.

I've 4 Garmin watches in my household including 2 x 255. Paid £299 for them.

Garmin if you actually want a functioning watch that doesn't need to be charged every day.

Tbh the apple watch is the best.

Other smart watches although work on iPhone are limited.

For alternatives to the apple watch though

Samsung galaxy watch
Huawei GT4
Fit bit

I tried to avoid the Apple Watch as it’s square and I wanted a round watch, also, the watch face selection was, and is still diabolical. However, limitations of others with an iPhone were annoying, I gave in and swapped a Samsung watch for the Apple, and apart from not loving the aesthetics it does everything I wanted it to and more
