Just smashed the screen on the Apple Watch 3. £276.44 to replace it with Apple - screw that!
On the bright side it looks like you can buy replacement screens for them now so will try to do it myself.

Has anyone tried replacing the screen on Apple Watch yourself? I am concerned with it still being waterproof after the DIY fix.

It won't be waterproof after the DIY fix. In fact, I wouldn't trust it would be waterproof after any fix other than a certified Apple repair shop.

Here's that it cost now on ebay. Apple repair is a ******** ripoff

I've had a read through Apple's T&Cs with regards to Apple Watch 3 display repair - I don't even think they DO repair it. The price they give, £276, is the cost of a refurbished unit from them. Much like iPad Pros - they don't repair displays, only replace the device.

They replaced the screen on my 10.5?

Interesting - did you see them do it? When my girlfriend took her 12.9 inch (lol) into Apple, they said they replaced the screen due to a defect, but upon inspecting the receipt, the whole iPad was replaced. I asked them about it, and they said they don't have the tools to do it in house. Perhaps this has changed - it was 2 years ago :-)

100%, same s/n and imei number, was a postal repair as didn’t have time to go instore

iPads, watches are replaced with whole units - never repaired
Exactly this - They don't have the tools to repair watches at all in the stores. If you take one in with a fault, they send it away and the chances are that it'll be replaced.

I wish there was a way to fix them. I've got a smashed series 2 that I could've given away. Currently it's just thrown in a drawer somewhere

Appreciate it's an old thread to bump but was going to make one with the same title, is there yet a cost effective way of replacing Apple Watch Series 3 smashed glass?
Took mine off at work to avoid damaging it, only to drop it on the floor in the process and smash it. Couldn't make it up!

My LCD looks to be OK so failing lack of affordable complete units, any recommendations for digitiser replacement companies? I understand it's all bonded together so needs more specialist kit.

TIA.
