Hopefully this'll interest a fair few people... Smashing Pumpkins have released the first song from their forthcoming album Zeitgeist.

Have a listen here: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=154013558

Click on Tarantula obviously ;)

Pretty awesome in terms of heaviness/direction for the new material methinks. Really hope they come to the UK other than festivals!

What do you reckon?

Amuses the hell out of me when bands split, claiming that they had gone as far as artistically possible with said band...then reform when solo projects make no cash :D

I'm sure it's a damn fine track though :)

/Off to have a listen.

Just had a listen...not impressed to be honest, like a garage band doing an Iron Maiden cover

Unlike this:

Yeah, Zwan wasn't great :P Nor was Machina though tbh...

Wonder if James Iha and D'arcy or Auf Der Maur are joining up? Anyone know?

Corgan and Chamberlain....

Not too keen on this track, but more Pumpkins is always good...have high hopes for the album. Hope for a UK tour as well, but might be too much :(

Unfortunatly they haven't seemed to have moved on since Machina :(
Was willing to put Machina down to flood and his 'wall of sound' that he likes to try.

Was hoping for a return to the Siamese Dream era tbh. :(

And i will never pay money to see them again after the farce that was the SECC concert in 2000. Played for 60 minutes, mostly machina, so bored, thought a few thousand angry Scot's where going to lynch them tbh.

Not sure if I like it... Corgan's voice does tend to grate at times and it does remind me of a Machina 2 track. The guitar playing is kewl though.

Siamese Dream/Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness are still among my favourite albums nonetheless, so I shall be purchasing the new one upon release.

Despite all their rage, they were still just glasweigans in a cage? :D
