I've got a Boxee Box which streams movies from the USB-drive that's attached to my Linksys E3000. My question is, are there any performance differences between SMB and UPnP? The E3000 can do both, so I'm just wondering which one I'm better off with.

Most prefer SMB if its local network
It is, yes. :) I've been running SMB for the past couple of months with no real issues, so I guess I'll keep doing that. My 1080p copy of Final Fantasy VII - Advent Children Complete tends to re-buffer every now and then, which is quite annoying. It's also the only one of my .MKVs to do so despite Avatar being a larger file. Quite confusing.
