ive hidden Some details so people who just like to glace can.

Experiment One,Create a Quiet Desktop/Gaming Experience
Now most of you know my PC is no light weight
[5930K | 1080GTX FE | 2.5TB of SSD's | etc]

i've always been after the quiet gaming experience. but its hard even with custom Fan Setups (Noctuas) running at only 200rpm its still to loud for me.
So you can imagine how Loud the FE is to me.
So until i upgrade to the 1080ti what could i do?

move my PC from near my PC to the cupboard...

now most of you would say that Its going to overheat in the cupboard. However, Some of you almost may know i game in my Man Cabin at the bottom of the garden[see sig for details if you care]

The Cupboard is around 8x6 with height of 8 Foot. But it has a lot less insulation than the major part of the cabin.

So before [ 5 hours of Witcher 3 Gameplay]
CPU: 63C Max average 57C
GPU: 83C Average of 81C
SSDS: 29C Average 25C

After: [ 5 hours of witcher 3 gameplay]
CPU: 55C average 52C
GPU: 80C Average 78C
SSDS: 27c Average 23C

its always much colder in the cupboard & now even if i use 100% fan speed on the FE i cannot hear it!.

then this morning here is a first bootup [ Founders Edition at 17c!]

I would have thought as the case exhaled warm air the ambient temps of the cupboard would rise which would then increase your case's ambient temp too and the rest of the components? What trickery is this?!

Seriously though if your temps are better in the cupboard i would just sound proof the cupboard abit and be done with it for silent gaming. You can buy sound proofing foam. Looks like little pyramids

Love it, I think I'll get a similar cabin in my garden and place my computer there. It just makes sense.

No... it doesn't!

Cabins are made from wood.
Very easy to be broken into.

I will NOT be leaving 3k+ worth of equipment in a bloody shed.

I bet the insurance company who covers the house would find it very easy to refuse a payout when they realisee it's a gaming shed....

My garden is surrounded by big houses on all sides, no issue there at all. Still makes sense :)

i dont get why you would buy a flanders edition if you want a quiet pc :( you could just get a gigabyte extreme or something and it would run at 50c with the fans just about moving.
